Rishikesh was a sleepy hamlet in the foothills of the Indian Himalayas before the Beatles and their partners descended on the Maharishi Mahesh Ashram in 1968.For a few months, the Fab 4 (minus Ringo, who left shortly after arriving) studied Transcendental Meditation with the Maharishi. They relaxed, meditated, wrote music and recorded much of what would become The White Album. Some people believe that the Beatles were feeling so much stress due to constant media attention and fame. Even their internal relations were also effected. Their tour of Rishikesh gave them new vision to their life. The Maharishi also helped the band in at the time of loss of their manager, Brian Epstein. The Maharishi Mahesh Yogi also inspired the beatles band to maintain good thoughts.
