Kunjapuri Devi Temple is located on a hillock around 15 km away from Rishikesh. This temple is dedicated to one of the thirteen most important goddesses of Shivalik range. The temple is well-known among the travellers as it gives a beautiful view of the sunrise and the sunset from the greater Himalayan peaks. Snow ranges and peaks of Garhwal Himalayas like Swarga Rohini, Gangotri, Banderpunch and Chaukhamba, can also be seen from this temple.
Kunjapuri Devi temple is considered as one of the 52 Shaktipeeth / Shaktipeetha/ Shaktipeetham of our divine Mother. The temple is situated on its namesake peak at an elevation of 1676 mtrs from above sea level. This shrine is one of the three Siddha Peeths, the other two being Surkanda Devi and Chanddi Devi. Many tourists preferred this temple for day trekking of 14 Km. This trekking takes a time of 6 to 7 hours. Krishna Holidays organized Day Trekking Trip for Kunjapuri Temple. Being a prime religious centre, thousands of visitors come throughout the year especially during 'Navratras' (April & October). Grand celebrations are held during the 'Dusshera' festival.
