Bharat Mandir is an ancient temple of Lord Hrishikesh Narayan located at heart of the Rishikesh city in Uttarakhand. Lord Hrishikesh known as Shri Bharatji Maharaj is different from Lord Rama's younger brother Bharat. He is known by the name of Bharat because he is the incarnation of Lord Vishnu in Kaliyuga, the preserving force holding Shankh, Chakra, Gada and Padam in his four hands.This temple is believed to be very old and most sacred temple in the city.If you are visiting Rishikesh during the Basant Panchami, you can witness the procession of this idol. Every year, on this day, Lord Hrishikesh’s idol is carried out in a sacred procession, after which it is dipped in the holy water of the river Ganga.
