Trayambakeshwar Temple in Rishikesh, Uttarakhand


Trayambakeshwar Temple  is situated near the famous Lakshman Jhula and is an important holy shrine in Rishikesh. It is dedicated to Lord Shiva and is believed to be one among the twelve Jyotirlingas of Lord Shiva. Trayambakeshwar actually means "Abode of three- eyed". It has many idols as well as chambers, which houses religious and vedic texts. The temple is a 13 storey high building and is a place of worship of many deities.  In proximity to it, there is a Swarg Niwas Mandir, another 12- storey temple with various idols of Hindu gods and goddesses on its many floors. A lot of devotees from all around the country come to seek blessings from the lord.
